Daisy was my first pup. I got her when she was 7 weeks old. She didn’t consider herself a dog: she was a small human. She loved to sit at the table and get small bites of my food, she would toss herself back onto my lap for her daily belly rubs, and of course she rested her head next to mine on our pillow every night. Daisy was the best fur baby in the whole world. She loved her Beagle brother Stanley (7) and Lab sister Miesha (14). She played with them each and every day, no matter rain or shine. I truly believe each dog has something to teach their human and Daisy taught me how to be a parent, how to love even when I felt angry or sad, and in her final moments how to be selfless in the midst of wanting to be selfish. Cancer took Daisy from me too soon. Daisy was a once in a lifetime pup and I will cherish every moment of the 8 years and 364 days I got to spend with her!
